back from the dead

well, not quite.

I'm just posting to say: I can't do xanga anymore. The Chinese Gvt has blocked it. They still let myspace and blogspot go on, so I don't get that. Although they have shut down a whole bunch of other blogging sites. This was posted using a proxy site. It's actually quite a hassle.

Oh well, I haven't been good about posting anyways. I used to just post boring stuff... and my life is boring. Well it's just work, ministry, sleeping, studying. That's it. sorry totally NF.

drop me an email though if you really want to contact me. I'm better at replying now...

Signing off from the other side of the globe. Good night.

without a safety net

happy new year! pls pr*y for me today, if you see this, I'm leading Blble study today in chinese again. Also there has been no prayre mtg for this week, so I feel like I'm working without a safety net.

Thanks. Hope you have a great 2007!

So today was my first time leading praise at my sg. And, I did it in Chinese... haha. Di di, I know totally how you feel now, it's a lot of preparation to lead wrshp and my nerves weren't so good before or during. All I did was feel relief when it was over haha. Or at least until I could stop playing the guitar. Yep I played guitar in front of people! I know I tend to strum harder when I'm nervous and my wrist gets all stiff and stuff but strumming harder also somehow makes me regain my confidence, maybe because I'm going faster and it's more like muscle memory then. Anyways, I had a backup guitar player thankfully and after a few songs I could just share or talk or lead the pr*yer time.

Yeah so amazingly I got through my first leading praise. I still have a lot ot work on, like learning the songs better so I can start them right away instead of searching for the tempo. Oh well, in due time. Thankfully they said they would give me other opportunities to lead, haha, and didn't kick me off the team. Yeah, G's grace for sure. I had lots of fun leading though. I MADE them meditate ... haha and I dragged that on for a really really long time... har har. Jk jk. And amazingly my chinese is getting better, although still a bit broken.

Ok. Oy! another day of work tomorrow. I've been so busy at work.

btw, GCAC, thanks for pr*ying for me!

Gullible

"Did you know that gullible isn't in the Chinese dictionary because it can't be properly translated? Yeah, they couldn't decide the on the best way to translate it."

Me (in front of at least 10 people): "REALLY?! .... couldn't it be 'rong yi bei pian'?"

....
... awkward silence...

... .... oh.... I get it....

GULLIBLE ---> Me

moan... Sigh...

I had to start over in growing my cilantro. Herb garden not a success.

empty flower pot: second attempt at getting them to grow. cup with some cilantro, the remnants of the sprouts that were about to die, and are still dying.

Di di (Calvin) you would be proud of me, I've been practicing a lot!

I got my guitar for 1400 RMB= 175 USD. Which is not bad. My guitar is pretty nice. Yamaha.

And my callouses. they used to be much worse. Can you see them?! however, I've been picking them. =P
However it doesn't say much about my actual guitar playing skill. I can play ok in the keys of C and E or A now. But the key of G is still the easiest for me, since it was the first I learned. Chord transitioning is getting easier now, with practicing... but strumming... moan...
